Why Cape Cod contractors run Traffic HD
Traffic HD is a two-component waterborne polyurethane and it is the finish most local pros reach for when the floor has to survive real use. Bona positions it for shopping malls, restaurants, offices, schools and hospitals, and the same properties are what make it work in a Falmouth summer rental that turns over every Saturday.
Two things matter most here. First, it cures fast enough to hand a house back: 80 percent cure at one day, 100 percent at three. Second, the coating is waterborne with a US regulatory VOC of 150 g/L and a non-offending odor, which is what lets you work in an occupied property without emptying it.

Working with it in coastal conditions
Bona's recommended window is 65 to 80°F at 40 to 60 percent relative humidity. Cape Cod spends most of July and August well above that humidity band. High humidity and low temperature both extend dry time, so the 2 to 3 hour recoat becomes a target rather than a guarantee. Run dehumidification, keep air moving, and check the coat instead of the clock.
The other coastal trap is mixing too much at once. With a hard 4 hour pot life and no second chance at mixing, a batch that outlives the session is money on the floor. If you are unsure how much to mix for a given square footage, that is a two-minute conversation at the counter.
“The owner JR is very knowledgeable. I own a flooring company and have been flooring for 25 years and he helped me figure out what I needed for a complicated job and taught me a few new things. Best flooring supplier I’ve been to.”
What pairs with it
- Bona DriFast Stain underneath, if the floor is getting color. Bona formulates the two to work together and no sealer is needed over a stained floor.
- Bona Mega ONE when the job does not justify a two-component finish and you want higher coverage per gallon.
- Abrasives, Bona applicators, T-bars and microfiber pads, all stocked in Falmouth.
